[Kde-bindings] compile smoke and qtruby w/o kde?

Ok. Put it down to confusion I already had a copy of 
qtruby-cvs-2004-06-22.tgz. Anyway, configure runs correctly, but make 
does the following,

$ make
cd . && /bin/sh /Users/gg/Documents/transact/qtruby-cvs/admin/missing 
--run autoheader
Can't locate object method "path" via package "Autom4te::Request" at 
/usr/bin/autom4te line 81.
autoheader: /usr/bin/autom4te failed with exit status: 1
make: *** [config.h.in] Error 1

$ uname -a
Darwin lemure.local 7.4.0 Darwin Kernel Version 7.4.0: Wed May 12 
16:58:24 PDT 2004; root:xnu/xnu-517.7.7.obj~7/RELEASE_PPC  Power 
Macintosh powerpc
