Richard,

I tried to use the .am file you sent, but automake prompted me to run aclocal, and when I tried to run the resulting make, things were pretty trashed.  So, I simply edited the Makefile.in file and manually removed any references to the files, and that worked.

You can copy the attached Makefile.am to kdebindings/qtc/clib/qtc, and it 
should build.
