Description:
 chkdown is a simple utilty to automatically check
and verify newly download files. It does this by
seaching out their checksums on the web. It is
intended to provide a \'casual\' level of trust.
You can run it in your download directory and it
will check the newest files, or you can create a
icon on your desktop and drag files on to it. It
can optionally perform a desktop notification
popup with clickable links to the search results,
so you can check them out yourself. You can easily
modify or add to the search providers by editing
the config file.

This is not strictly a KDE application, but I have
included it here because it makes good use of KDE
desktop notifications which support HTML markup.

It is recommend to build from source hosted at
sourceforge, else try build service binaries.
chkdown is open source software, released under a
GPLv3 license.
