Howdy List,

Happy new year to all!
Another report i wanted to share here.

One of my more current issues was: i want to Play games with KWins zoom plugin enabled.
Sadly the zoom disappears after starting an game (maybe its caused by needed 3D in fullscreen).

After xmas my frinds and me did a LAN party (yea this still exists in times of MMORPGs ;), its like meet real people but ignore each other by just playing computer lol).

Play my games using gnome worked but i want use my fancy Plasma to impress my friends ;) and not have to install a load of GnomeShellSh.t....
So i searched for an solution at the day more early.
And *drumms* i found one.
I want to share this with you.
How to do this if Zoom disables automatically after starting the game?

It seems KWin has a rule to disable all compositing when launch special windows like 3D games.
And with that knowledge it was quite easy to find the solution.
The shortcut:
Shift + Alt +F12
Reenable the compositing and zoom works again. Thats easy!

It worked very good in RTS games like OpenRA, 0.AD. And several others. Its a bit glitchy in shooters like Boarderlands, UrbanTerror, and Left 4 dead 2 (not because of performance but the mouse moves a little what it moves the focus but it should locked).

It makes me also able to use FreeCAD again for model stuff for my 3D printer.

I hope you enjoy this little information like i did or maybe you already know about this. Anyway i m back on gaming front using Zoom.

Again:plasma is an awesome plattform what solves issues instead of creating some. Thanks!

Cheers chrys
