Hey everyone,

Since our last meeting I have worked on a small application called "Live
Transcriber".

LiveTranscriber is an open-source, semi-automated transcription platform
combining automated speech recognition (ASR) with human-made corrections
and reviewing.

The whole application is writte in Rails 4, using HTML5 EventSource and
Redis for client-server communication.

The speech processing is done by a modified version of
pocketsphinx_continuous ("fatpocketsphinx").

I made a small video to demonstrate it and to explain future goals and
tasks:

The project is published under the Affaro GPL license (Thanks Peter for the
advice).
Any transcriptions made with the application must be shared with the
community.
This way the existing speech models can be further improved.

The source code is available at GitHub:
https://github.com/skpvox/LiveTranscriber

In case that the development of the backend (fatpocketsphinx) becomes more
active I will add it as a separate project on KDE.

If you are interested in contributing to the project, please take a look at
the "Issues" section under GitHub. You can also fork the project, make some
improvements and than send a "Pull Request".

If you have any questions, just drop me a line.

I'm looking forward to any feedback,

Simon Eichhammer
