Subject: Developing with Accessibility event at the FCC
To: gnome-accessibility-list at gnome.org

Hi,

The Accessibility and Innovations Initiative at the Federal
Communications Commission (FCC) is organizing a two-day event in
September called 'Developing with Accessibility' (DevAcc). The event
aims to spur collaboration on accessibility among developers from
industry, consumer, and government sectors. The event will encourage
the use of accessibility APIs (application programming interfaces), as
well as publicly available data sets, in order to build accessible
apps for mobile phones and websites. A key objective is to promote
the concept and practice of developing applications with regard for
generally-accepted accessibility guidelines, thereby maximizing their
usability for everyone, including people with disabilities.

More details about the event (including registration details) can be
found at: http://www.fcc.gov/events/developing-accessibility. Please
feel free to pass this message to colleagues/mailing lists that may be
interested in such an event.

Thanks,
Mustafa
