I typed
# proklam
# dcop proklam kspeech sayWarning "Hello world, this is the first message that
is being spoken by proklam, using the command plug in developed by Gunnar and
a script to call festival" "en"
and I was pleased by a robotic voice speaking all that!!!! Proklam works! :)
It is still far from usable by anyone, a lot of work is still needed but it is
starting to work.
Thank you Gunnar for developing the command plug in wich allowed this to be
posible.
For the ones that are not familiar with the plug ins. Proklam is plug in
based, it means that it loads a plug in from a list of available plug ins and
related to a language.
I developed a Festival plug in, wich should be working, but it doesn't
(festival weirdness) and Gunnar developed a command plug in wich allowsy ou
to run any command line passing the text as a paramater.
So I made a script to be called by Gunnar's command plug in (because of the
festival weirdnes I can't call it directly) to use festival to speak and it
is speaking. IT IS SPEAKING! it's alive! :)
What's missing then ?
There's still no code to handle long texts.
There's no kspeech class for others to use it.
Making command plug in, run festival each time, is very slow, so, there's a
long delay when you send your message and when it is spoken.
But, it is working!!! :)
Gunnar, thanks again!
I'll commit this asap!
