Summary: Ability to open molecule editor directly
Product: kalzium
Version: unspecified
Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: kalzium at kde.org
ReportedBy: toddrme2178 at gmail.com
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.1)
OS: Linux
It is really nice having a native molecule viewer in KDE. However, as far as I
can tell the only way to get access to it is from within the kalzium interface.
I think it would be very useful if we could get access to the molecule editor
from the commandline, either through its own binary or through a commandline
switch. The user would be able to open a blank window or pass it a file to be
opened.
This would not only allow quicker access to the molecule editor, it would also
allow people to associate kalzium with molecule file formats, allowing them to
open the files directly from their file browser or even web browser. This is
critical for fields that use a lot of molecule files, like molecular biology.
Reproducible: Always
