[Kalzium] Two versions of Kalzium?

Hi

I am thinking about creating two different versions of Kalzium

1.) A educational version
2.) A scientific version

ad 1)
 - Stuff like timeline, state of matter
 - Some data removed, for example "mean weight"
 - Perhaps no plottingdialog
 - Probably less colourschemes and gradients

ad 2)
 - no state of matter
 - no timeline
 - some aditional features like a dialog about amio acids
 - display all dataset which come with the blue obelisk project

Advantage:
 - This is probably easier to do than implementing "modes" in Kalzium
 - The new Kalzium could be located in extragear and could be downloaded
without kdeedu
 - the new Kalzium would suit better for scientiests, I think

Disadvantage:
 - Code sharing will be more difficult (bug fixing for example)
 - What about libkdeedu if I move to extragear? Having two copies is not good
 - Confusion amoung users

Perhaps you have some ideas to share with me? Egon of cdk-fame is also for
creating a "kdescience" module where we put kfile_chemistry and other
science-related tool in.

Carsten
