Hello dear Kalzium developers and users,
IMHO, actually the kalzium sources are quite messy - speaking of placing of
datafiles mainly. To save you opening a new shell/konqueror tab, here it is
the actual structure:
kalzium
`-- src
|-- data
| `-- toolpics
|-- elementpics
|-- icons
| `-- htmlview
|-- lattice
| |-- bcc
| |-- fcc
| |-- rbg
| |-- rpg
| |-- simple-cubic
| |-- tpg
| `-- trg
|-- solver
`-- spectrummanager
As you can see, all the data files are in (in)direct subdirs of src. What I'd
like to do is put all the data files in the data directory, and put it as 2nd
main folder in the sources root. And, of course, reorganizing some folder in
a saner way, like putting htmlview out of icons, as IMHO it isn't pertinent).
So, something like that:
kalzium
|-- src
| |-- solver
| `-- spectrummanager
`-- data
|-- elementpics
|-- htmlview
|-- icons
|-- lattice
| |-- bcc
| |-- fcc
| |-- rbg
| |-- rpg
| |-- simple-cubic
| |-- tpg
| `-- trg
`-- toolpics
Ok, next step: the actual data directory. Actually it is:
data
|-- Makefile.am
|-- bg.jpg
|-- data.dtd
|-- data.xml
|-- knowledge.xml
|-- knowledge.xml.todo
|-- spektrum.png
|-- toolpics (directory)
|-- tools.xml
`-- tools.xml.todo
1) data.* : as now we use the data of the BlueObelisk file format, the
data.xml (and its DTD) is old, and can be safely removed. Any thought?
2) The two *.todo files refer to untraslated items for both knowledge and
tools. As I'm not a German-speaking guy, I ask to the German guys to do some
checking on them, like erase the items already translated.
Ok, it seems that I've finished my points at the monent, so I leave to you
have further comment ;-)
Cheers,
