Well I just guessed at this.  I opened synaptic and reinstalled the 3 parts of
the K3B system which were lacking permissions, Wodim, cdrcao (i think getting
senile these days) and the 3rd one I cannot remember but it corrected the error
message and I was able to burn a music CD and am again happy since I will also
be able to burn backup data CDs again.  Must have gotten corrupted somehow.
