If you created virtual CD-R like this:

cdemu create-blank --writer-id=WRITER-TOC --medium-type=cdr80
--param="writer.write_raw=1" --param="writer.write_subchannel=1" 0 ~/virt.toc

K3b would detect it as Empty CD-R medium, the screenshot:

Then you can New Data Project, added some files, burn it, if success, you might
find ~/virt.bin
