yes, growisofs implemented it:

 * - implement -use-the-force-luke=seek:N -Z /dev/dvd=image to arrange          
 *   for 'builtin_dd if=image of=/dev/dvd obs=32k seek=N/16' (note that         
 *   N is expected to be expressed in 2KB chunks);
