This issue is not fixed, though the output is slightly different:

Found Medium: Empty BD-R medium
Please insert medium of size 720.8MiB or larger into drive
HL-DT-ST BD-RE BH08LS20 (/dev/sr0)

I tried to burn a small project in this instance as a quick test. I've  
tried various projects with the same result.

The medium looks like this according to dvd+rw-mediainfo:
