While this mail is probably not what we want to have, this is something i 
always wanted to implement, and opens up the problem that others have reported 
- too: user interface guidelines that make more sense (and that are followed, 
too).

Let me also add some thought to this: guidelines through elegance. If we put a 
lot of elegance and refinement in the best, core KDE applications, and we 
strictly stick to our guidelines, the ones that are developed by the guys who 
don't really care too much of those things will follow. Apple docet, in this 
case...
This is something we should work on methinks...
