Hi,
there is a readme available for macOSX in the source folder
https://quickgit.kde.org/?p=gcompris.git&a=blob&h=142dbf64833d049c7829e8bfb7587fa544580e09&hb=44a1396d5f513fd909c81b9d6290efcfd1508b71&f=platforms%2Fmacosx%2FREADME
but we usually recommand to develop on linux (it's working fine in a
virtual machine).
