I used the command line from 
_http://gcompris.net/wiki/Developer%27s_corner_,
/git clone git://git.gnome.org/gcompris/. I let it download until it 
said 64%, 306MB. I figured that I must be doing something wrong so I hit 
control-c and stopped it. What did I do wrong? Or maybe I should ask 
where do I find the instructions to do it right?

I am sorry, this is the first time that I have tried to use git, so I 
really don't know what I am doing.
What I have in mind is this. I want to end up with something like I get 
when I extract gcompris-9.5.tar.gz 
<http://sourceforge.net/projects/gcompris/files/gcompris/9.5/gcompris-9.5.tar.gz/download>. 
But maybe I don't know what I want.
