[gcompris-devel] Couple of issues getting started

I came across Qimo a couple of months ago, and after experiencing
gcompris there, I decided to install it (8.4.12) on a home computer
(running gentoo, so compiled from source).

Much of it is working, but I have encountered two problems:

1. Not all of the activities are appearing in the menus (in
particular, hexagon, my son's favorite, doesn't show up). I
did no configuration (and in fact, can't find any configuration
file), so it doesn't seem correct that something would not get
shown by default). I do see (at least some) of the files:

$ qlist gcompris | grep hexagon
/usr/share/games/gcompris/boards/skins/gartoon/boardicons/hexagon.svg
/usr/share/games/gcompris/boards/voices/en/intro/hexagon.ogg
/usr/share/games/gcompris/boards/voices/fr/intro/hexagon.ogg

2. I have tried to start the administration module (to at
least check that none of the activities have been disabled),
but I keep getting the message "Couldn't find the board menu,
or plugin execution error."
