We do include goocanvas in our source base. There is no need to check
for it. You don't need to have a packaged goocanvas for your distro
either.

GCompris for some reason can't find the data files. In your trace I see
that binary relocation is disabled that prevent us to determine where
the data files are based on the binary location.
Basically, the first lines on the console at GCompris startup display
every location we expect to find files in.
