Hello Chris,
Thanks for getting back to me.
So….
I finally have it working after trying almost bloody everything under the sun.
So something is written to /tmp/user when a session is initiated. In my case there (1) wasn’t a user folder to begin with, so I made one.
This was about 5 hours ago in the process. I only just noticed that the permissions on this folder were 755, I changed them to 777 and
bingo the lubuntu desktop magically appears on my Mac.
To be honest, it could be any number of things that I’ve tried, and this was just the last piece of the puzzle….
If I can be bothered I might try repeating the process to see if it was just this final step that solved it.
Either way this crucial step should be put into nxsetup (if it isn’t already), and the freenx-server startup script should check for its existence.
I really hope this is of use to somebody else too - otherwise that would just be too soul-destroying for words.
night, night
Jon
