Ok then. There is too much hack on that wiki. nxsetup is a script that tries to install on every distro. So I removed it and put everything on relevant for debian/ubuntu on postinstall/configure/remove scripts. Everything should work out of the box. I recommend removing everything. apt-get --purge freenx-server And install again. apt-get install freenx-server. install 2d gnome (it should be already installed, but can not be) apt-get install gnome-session-fallback. At this point nxclient should work with no custom keys. Only setting protocol ssh and nomachine login and choosing gnome as session. For custom keys: sudo dpkg-reconfigure freenx-server sudo cp /var/lib/nxserver/home/.ssh/client.id_dsa.key ~/ Use it on the client. 14.04 lts is under development. I intend to create a package for it. So is time to correct some bugs. Regards.

Sorry folks. Distro version is 12.04LTS, and I installed freenx from a PPA it seems: I used this guide (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/FreeNX) to set it up and essentially get it running. NX entreprise client 4 should use protocol ssh and NoMachine login. Ah, that may have been another issue... I just switched it to the NoMachine log in and continued to see some sort of access denied error, but I switched the key file over to my SSH server's private key, and once again NoMachine prompted me for a username and log in, although when I looked at the connection logs for both attempts, they were actually the same this time: Pseudo-terminal will not be allocated because stdin is not a terminal. Permission denied (publickey). On 2/19/2014 9:53 PM, Marcelo Boveto Shima wrote: What Ubuntu version are you using? How did you installed freenx? I recommend installing from a ppa. I have freenx working great for more than 6 years with 2 or 3 users. Sometimes there are some bugs. Right now there is none unresolved or without an workaround. At least on my use case. NX entreprise client 4 should use protocol ssh and NoMachine login. Regards. --- Marcelo On 19 de fevereiro de 2014 22:27:52 BRT, Lucky0106 <lucky0106 at msn.com> wrote: Hmm... I suppose I'm asking it to start an SSH session... Although the other option appears to be the NX protocol, and that doesn't seem to work since I don't think there even is a service listening on port 4000 on the host machine (ps -Al doesn't seem to reveal such a process). I've been hearing talk about how you can choose your DTE in NoMachine, but I have yet to see such an option - I can't find anywhere to configure this in the client profile setup. I just did a quick google of x2go, and I've seen quite a few people raving about it... I almost wonder if I should move on at this point. If I may go a bit off topic and ask, what are the differences that bother you?
