If you want data compression to the workstation
you
need something installed andrunning on the workstation
to de-compress the data stream.
If you have a
web server handy
you can use the nomachine java client-downloader
http://www.nomachine.com/download-package.php?Prod_Id=3857
http://www.nomachine.com/documents/plugin/install.html
to install the "NX Web Companion" which is a java applet called
nxplugin,
which installs the (client OS appropriate) nx client onto
the workstation
and
runs an NX session "without Administrator intervention" ( Hmmmmm )
tho
you may confuse your users a little,
and
if any of them are doing the right thing
not using an admin account
not allowing anything downloaded to be executed
you may find they can't run that installation
(tho I haven't tested that, co I don't use it)
You may also like to note that you will need to run your
"presentations" "on" an NX server, to do the compression
at the other end, so you will need to set that up somewhere
tho
you can "point" your NX server at the vnc server(s)
running on your demonstrator's workstation(s)
by
setting up such a session in the client, and the
vnc (client) will be Xed and then NXed etc
so
that may be useful to you.
One NX server will run any number of such "presentations"
sessions at the same time, independently (rescource dependent).
For my twopenn'oth I guess it is easier to stick with java/vnc
but
I guess it will depend on how many you do . . . .
Let us know how you get on tho . . . . . . . .
