Thank you so much! That is exactly what we need to figure this all out!

OK. What do you see as replacing X?

To briefly explain what we would like to do: after logging in with two 
factor authentication, we would like to let our users run Stata, a 
windowed statistics package. Stata on unix has an X gui, I don't foresee 
them changing that any time soon.
