Yes, NX 4.0 is being closed sourced.
But there are still a variety of NX clients out there that will continue to
work with FreeNX. Remmina <http://remmina.sourceforge.net/> is very good
example.
There are also some great alternatives that implement both an NX server &
client side apps such as x2go <http://wiki.x2go.org/>. x2go will
soon have a major upgrade that includes a java browser plugin that can be
your client so all you need is a java enabled
browser.

Hi,
I'm a long time user of freenx + nx libs.
I love freeNX, we use it at work, it has made our daily activities more
flexible, and it has saved costs.
I've just read this http://www.nomachine.com/news-read.php?idnews=331
So NX4.0 will not be free.
How will this affect freenx?
freeNX doesn't seem to have much luck.
I mean, first the community gets divided with google's neatX, then ubuntu
and fedora say they're dropping X, and now the core of freeNX is to become
non-free.
Any good news out there?
Cheers,
Chris.
