Did you iinstall all the fedora patches ??

I don't think I can be much help, however

Try gnome instead of kde
or
Try setting xterm under
<Configure><General><Desktop><Custom><Settings>
<Run the following command>
and see if it's a problem there too.

You can try startkde from within xterm.
