It might not have installed the script. Check in /etc/init.d/
(or where-ever on your distro)
The service start-up doesn't launch a daemon, but it does clear out some
lock files
from /tmp and can be used to disable nx ssh connections ( which it does by
renamng
the nx user's key file )

You will find it fails a few times at first (4 or 5 typically) then works.
If this is too annoying, you can patch /usr/bin/nxnode with a "sleep", see
my previous post.
