any solutions to this issue? i'm facing this with increasing frequency now.
Not sure what seems to cause it. I've seen this running from both vista and
xp (not running at the same time).
Client1: Vista Home Premium
Client2: Windows XP professional
Host: Ubuntu 8.10
Mario,
I have been running the following when this seems to have happened:
Firefox
Terminal (XTERM provided by GNOME, nothing special)
Emacs
To answer Mario's questions,
When NX client does "freeze" with white screen, it's process usage is
marginal on client. Ditto for Server. Oddly enough, I am able to VNC during
the freeze and see my session nice and fine. If i try to close the frozen
FreeNX client (by clicking on the top right X), the VNC window shows a query
dialog (Suspend session, Terminate or Cancel). The only way to "gracefully"
exit the NX client seems to be to click "Suspend" via the VNC window, and
then restart the NX session.
At this point, NX recovers but the problem happens shortly afterwards (non
deterministic delay).
Any help would be most appreciated! VNC usage experience is supremely
sub-par compared to near real-time response from NX.
thanks!
