hi Lewis,
I'm using graphics acceleration via NX with VirtualGL.
http://www.virtualgl.org/vgldoc/2_0_1final/
My setup is particularly complicated, since I manage
5 NX workstations, only one of which has a GPU (nx5).
When a user starts a NX session on one of the non-GPU
workstations and wants to use graphics acceleration
(i.e. run an openGL program), then they take advantage
of a system-wide alias and (restricted) password-less
ssh keys. An example of an alias is:
alias caret5='vglconnect nx5 "vglrun caret5 $1"'
The systems are on a private network, so the network
speed is sufficient not to produce a delay.
Best,
Julie
