I see. Sorry about that. I am not running matlab on wine. I suspect this is
a strange Matlab problem with X on OSX. When I run matlab with ssh -X -Y, it
also crashes the X server on the Mac client. Logs at very bottom. I am not
familiar with Macs. I will try it also with a Linux client tomorrow.

Below are the server side logs for two separate crashes under ~/.nx. The
first corresponds to the session in my initial email. I included the second
because it was different. I also included the client side errors log near
bottom.
