Do you see the same behavior when attempting a login using a non-root user?

Subject: [FreeNX-kNX] Unable to open display

I'm trying to get a remote NX session up and running. The system is
Fedora 8, the server is FreeNX and the client is NX Client for
Windows v3.2.0-10. I installed FreeNX via `yum install freenx` of
Fedora 8. I'm not sure how to pull up the actual version information
for FreeNX.

I've set SESSION_LOG_CLEAN=0 in the node.conf file. When I try to
log in, I get the following error in the session log:

NXAGENT - Version 2.1.0

Copyright (C) 2001, 2006 NoMachine.
See http://www.nomachine.com/ for more information.

Info: Agent running with pid '31048'.
Session: Starting session at 'Wed Mar 11 02:04:40 2009'.
Info: Proxy running in server mode with pid '31048'.
Info: Waiting for connection from '127.0.0.1' on port '5000'.
Info: Aborting the procedure due to signal '15'.

Fatal server error:
Error: Unable to open display
'nx/nx,options=/root/.nx/C-digi3-1000-319AB80435D4B5364985F02A07506DD9/options:1000'.

Below is the log from the client side:

You might also want to try: ssh -X myserver; /usr/libexec/nx/nxnode
--agent to test the basic functionality. Session log follows:
bye
Bye
NX> 999 Bye
NX> 280 Exiting on signal: 15

Line number 1203 in /usr/libexec/nx/nxserver is: wait $SERVER_WAIT_PID

The odd thing is that I used to be able to log into this system with
NX but now I can't. I'm not sure what changed.

I've tried removing FreeNX from the system and then reinstalling it
with yum again, but no luck.

I've googled all day for answers and I haven't come up with anything
yet. I hope someone on this list can help me get my beloved NX back
up and running.

~Dan
