I think you're using the NX server from NoMachine, and not the FreeNX. 
The FeeNX doesn't support the shadow mode .. only the VNC mode, but I 
don't know how to use it.

Yup. And it worked once or twice and stoped working for me

Log shows:

:\ I have not tried to figure it out yet.
