Dear Fabian,
long time no see. I hope you are doing fine. Please do not get me wrong.
You are doing great work and are the main developer for this project.
But in the last time we have unfortunately not heard a lot from you.
As everybody else you probably have a lot to do. But I think there are a
lot of capable people on this list, which could help you with the work,
so you can focus on the important things.
If I remember correctly there are the following projects going on right
now. (Please add.)
1. rewrite of freenx-server
2. Moving away from BerliOS to a new server with a Wiki, BTS, etc.
Unfortunately we do not know the status of those projects (or is it just
me). I think, people do not want to step on your toes since the project
is your baby. So it would be nice if you could share your roadmap for
the project or *delegate* some tasks, so you do not have to bother with
those.
For example, do you want to first finish the rewrite and set up the
server afterwards?
Do you want to just focus on the rewrite? Do you want to appoint someone
who is the only person to contact you and who is filtering some of the
traffic?
The willing people to help you should than set up a roadmap with
deadlines.
For example: until July 31st discussion for which vcs to use and which
bts, wiki. Until August 7th election or delegation of administrator and
setting up the server. Until August 14th migration to the new host.
I hope you get my point. But in my opinion this is the only way to push
the project forward. But I am pretty sure, that you have had those
thoughts/ideas already by yourself.
I hope, to hear from you soon.
Paul
