In your task manager, kill the nxssh.exe process and then when you 
  connect to your nxserver, the time-out error should disappear.

   I will experiment with this when I get home to my test machine. So, killing the nxssh.exe process does not prevent you from connecting, or do you kill the process after you have made a connection..?
