Hello,
apparently my way of using NX (or wishing to use it) is not that
usual, but as far as I understood it should be possible:
I want to get a VNC-Session via NX, where the freeNX-Server is the
same machine where the VNC-Session is "hosted".
INTERNET------>------------ROUTER---->-------freeNX-Server->|
^ |
|__VNC__|
I can connect to my NX server either via ssh nx at NXSERVER or via nxclient.
I can then start KDE,..., but I would like to watch the normal
desktop, which is released (? "freigegeben" in german) via xorg.conf's
VNC (comfortable via sax2 on my openSUSE 10.2).
So I thought I just add the IP of the freeNX-server=VNC-Server into
the filed, choose display 0 and enter the password. SSL-Encryption is
enabled.
Then I get a black window. And nothing else.
If I use another port, or enter a wrong password, I get an error
message, so I assume I entered everything right in the first place.
So, why the black window? Is it
- - a bug in NX
- - a feature?
- - a feature of nomachine's NXserver
- - not possible at all
that I cannot connect to VNC on the same host?
Thanks,
OJ
P.S.: If you need any more information just ask, I was not sure
if/what I should have given ..

airplanes because it's obscene.
