I still have to say that I think the name should completely change
from FreeNX to help stop confusion from the existing "prototype"
version (as Fabain called it) to the new one, and to also help
differenciate "FreeNX" from NoMachine's NXServer.
Look what NoMachine has put at their frontpage:
http://www.nomachine.com/news-read.php?idnews=202
I have to admit that I have very often (on the IRC channel where I
have in periodes been active) experienced people asking questions
regarding NoMachine's Free NXServer, and sometimes even regarding the
commercial NXServer - it's just too confusing for people! NoMachine
obviously experiences the same....
I vote to (as a matter of respect for NoMachine's work) go for
something that has no immediate association with either NXServer or
FreeNX.
It might be an acronym, or just something else - just to help people
to clearly see the differences... (and to help easy the burden on
NoMachine's support department as a "Thank you" for providing the FOSS
community with such a great technology).
We also need to keep in mind what Kurt wrote earlier, that Fabian and
him initially asked, and got a "ok", from NoMachine regarding the name
FreeNX, so maybe they might object to a too similar name - I dunno...
my 2 cents..

PS! NoMachine has also responded to the article I linked to in one of
my previous posts....
