[FreeNX-kNX] Why does NX ignore -geometry setting?

For an older application I need a screen size of 1280x1024, but whatever
values I
enter as geometry, they get ignored from the NX server. Only when I select
fullscreen
mode in the client, I get 1280x1024 in the NX session, because that is the
resolution
I use on my physical screen.

Linux-Server is OpenSuSE 10.2, installed NX versions:
rpm qa | grep -i nx
NX-1.5.0-75
FreeNX-0.5.0-25
NX-Windows Client version is 2.1.0.17.
Any hints?
