[FreeNX-kNX] Compression on SMB shares

The NoMachine client asks for a connection speed (modem, ..., LAN) and selects the level of compression accordingly.
Even when I'm on a LAN connection with my FreeNX machine, I usually use "modem" to reduce bandwidth usage. Unfortunately, the high level of compression seems to affect transparently mounted SMB shares as well. File transfers keep on stalling and are generally very slow. They work perfectly on e.g. the LAN compression setting.
Is there a solution or workaround, so that I can have full compression for the X data and no compression for the SMB transfers?
Both seem to use the same port displaynumber + 4000. NoMachine (http://www.nomachine.com/documentation/admin-guide.php) mentions a separate SMB port
displaynumber + 7000 (SMB share service)
but on my machine (Ubuntu Breezy), this port ist used by the AFS3 file server.
I'm running freenx 0.4.4+0.4.5-3ubuntu0 and nxagent/nxlibs 1.4.92+1.5.0-4ubuntu0.
Thanks!
