[FreeNX-kNX] how to let process continue while session is suspended

Hi, I'm running matlab under Suse 9.2 Linux. I want to connect to my linux 
box from my laptop using freenx/ the free NX client on windows.
Then I want to start matlab and execute a command that may take a few days 
to run. Then I want to suspend the session, but let the matlab process 
continue.

If I suspend now, it also suspends matlab, so my process only runs when I'm 
connected, which won't help.
