Hi
I tried to use the new snapshot, but couldn't get it to work. I try to run a
KDE session (i.e. startkde). I get to see the splash screen, so login works.
FIrst thing is: that it's always in rootless mode. Also it's pretty slow, but
maybe that's due to rootless mode. Second: it gets as for as "Initializing
Peripherals", or something like that, and and then fails. Did I configure
something wrong? Are my libs too old? What could I do to get more
information? I attached my sshlog and node.conf. I use an older version of
freenx regularly, so basically my setup works.
I'm using nxclient for Linux 1.5.0-135. NX server packages, on Debian Sarge:
ii nxagent 1.4.92+1.5.0-7sarge8 NoMachine NX - nesting X server with
roundtrip suppression
ii nxlibs 1.4.92+1.5.0-7sarge8 NoMachine NX - common agent libraries
ii nxproxy 1.4.92+1.5.0-7sarge8 NoMachine NX - X protocol compression
proxy
ii libxcomp1 1.4.92+1.5.0-7sarge8 NoMachine NX - NX compression library
ii libxcompext1 1.4.92+1.5.0-7sarge8 NoMachine NX - NX compression library

# node.conf
#
# This file is provided by FreeNX. It should be placed either into
# /etc/nxserver/node.conf (FreeNX style) or /usr/NX/etc/node.conf
# (NoMachine NX style).
#
# It is mostly compatible with NoMachine node.conf. The most important
# difference is that no spaces are allowed when assigning values (eg
# "A=value" is allowed, "A = value" is NOT).
#
# This file is sourced by bash, so you can do some fancy stuff here if you
# want to, but be aware that it is sourced 3 times per connection. If you
# want autostart stuff, set NODE_AUTOSTART instead!
#
#
# You surely are aware that FreeNX is based on the fantastic results that
# the hard work by NoMachine.com has achieved. NoMachine.com released the
# core NX libraries under the GPL. The installation of these libs are the
# precondition for all FreeNX scripts to work. If you are installing this
# software with the help of one of the package management tools of your
# Linux distribution, you can assume that this dependency is taken care of
# by the tool.
#
# You have questions about the inner workings of the NX technology?
#
# Then you are recommended to first check out the rich and very detailed
# NoMachine documentation and their online Knowledge Base at
#
# http://www.nomachine.com/kb/
#
# Other sources of information are the NoMachine mailing lists
# (nxusers at nomachine.com and nxdevelopers at nomachine.com):

#
# To make a connection to the FreeNX server, just use 'freenx.<user>' as
