And our strange dialog with NoMachine through their
bugtracker continues:

Notably, they claim that this error is not responsible
for session startup being interrupted on the client
side ("The connection with the remote server was shut
down." is what I'm getting for the moment).

If that's the case, it might be interesting to find
out what exactly leads to the xrdb error in the first
place (didn't happen before), which may then be the
root cause of the problem.
