For all those who stumble across this trying to make nxserver-freenx run
on Gentoo AMD64, Igor Manassypov got it working and told me the
following by e-mail.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
The issue was with the port of the nx-x11. Nnow I managed to get both
x86 and x86_64 rolling.
You have to emerge the nx-x11-bin, and not the nx-x11. Also, observe the
sequence: nx-x11-bin and then nxserver-freenx. Keep in mind the
'commercial' USE flag. Also, the nxsetup script is buggy, if you run it
you notice the 'unmatched ]' exception on line 499, - correct it by
adding extra space in front of it, and re-run the script. That should do
it. Let me know if that helps.
Also, I was working on the nx with the new xorg - don't up your x's to
7.0, it wont work with nxserver.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Works like a charm, but remember that the commercial use flag became
nxclient as of nxserver-freenx-0.5.0.20060311-r1. I think they also
fixed the nxsetup script because I didn't have any issues with that. I'm
using xorg-x11-6.8.2-r4, but the output of
nxserver-freenx-0.5.0.20060311-r1 say something about xorg7, so that may
be fixed too.
