i have a few customers doing exactly what you're describing. in one case, i've
saved a little money by using winxp in conjunction with "winconnect server xp"
from http://thinsoftinc.com/ ... in fact, in that case winxp is running inside a
dual-cpu virtual machine sitting on a linux application server - which lowered
the total cost of deployment (seeing how vmware server is now free).
