[FreeNX-kNX] Linux Server, Windows Client?

Hi!
I'm having a grand time trying to connect a Windows NX client to a
Linux NX server. I've tried a few different combinations. I can't find
a Windows client other than the 2.0 client from nomachine.com's
download page, but I've tried both the nomachine.com NX server
(version 2) and the freenx server (version 1.4, as found on a
supposedly Ubuntu-dapper-friendly apt repository,
http://free.linux.hp.com/~brett/seveas/freenx).
I can't get to the point yet where I'm actually looking at a remote
desktop. Using the FreeNX server noted above, I attempt to use the
Windows client to connect to the server. Authentication works, an X
connection is supposedly established, and then... nothing. According
to iptraf running on the server, there's a connection, but no traffic
at all. Using the "NX Session Administrator" program on the client
machine, I close the session. This takes some time, but once it's
done, I end up with the attached log file. I can't find any old
version of nomachine's Windows client.
Using the nomachine.com server from the tarball listed on their site,
I get errors about perl libraries not being found (in the
/usr/NX/lib/perl directory). I can find many of these files in other
directories on my system, but on finding and meeting each dependency,
I'm met with a new one to find. I gave up on this route after being
absolutely unable to find Linux.so anywhere.
Using the .deb package listed on nomachine.com, several dependencies
are unmet, and I give up after messing around with about 7 different
repositories.
Is it possible to run FreeNX between an Ubuntu Linux server and a
Windows client?
