[FreeNX-kNX] FreeNX pure applet client ?

Hi, 

i am still playing around with FreeNX and everything looks really cool. 
Also this french applet from the university of strassbourg looks very cool, but i am wondering, is there a pure java implementation of the client side ? 

The french applet does also spawn an external application on windows ... 

Any help appreciated,
