Hello! I'm new to the list. :-)

I'm getting the exact same problem on Suse 10.1 I've tried searching the web
for a solution, and the only potentially hopeful lead I've found is that
apparently between nx server and nxagent one of them gives up trying to
connect after 10 seconds by default, which is not long enough for the other
one on a lot of setups. I gather that someone's submitted a patch so that
one can manually adjust the delay allowed before the one side times out, but
have no idea whether that's been accepted.

And that, I'm afraid is about the limit of my knowledge. I confess I don't
really understand this stuff, but having been pleasantly surprised at how
well VNC worked on my LAN (I can now use my powerful but noisy desktop in the
spare room from my much quieter mini-ITX in my room), and having heard that
FreeNX is even better and can pass through sound as well, I decided to give
it a try. It'd be so nice to be able to play games too resource-intensive
for this PC without the roar of my desktop PCs cooling fans all the time!

In case it matters, I'm using Kubuntu 6.06 on this mini-ITX (600Mhz CPU, 246MB
RAM), and Suse10.1 on my desktop (AMD 2600+ with 512MB RAM and a geforce3
graphics card).

I really can;t understand why this isn't better documented - there seems to be
bits and bobs of instructions for it dotted all over the place, but nothing
in one coherent lump!
