You don't seem to be getting many responses as to other solutions, so I
will chime in, even though it may be off the mark, as you may be set on
smart-cards.  If you are just looking for an open source strong
authentication mechanism, perhaps this will help.  A while back, I wrote
up a doc on how to configure freenx to work with our one-time password
system.  It requires a patch.

For the open source version of WiKID, you will have to use tacacs+ with PAM.
