I think I forgot to program that message box. ;-)

Do you use KDE?

If not you have to do:

IPP_PORT=9000+$display lpstat -p

So for display :1000 you would have: 

IPP_PORT=10000 lpstat -p

And should see the printers. If you use KDE it automatically works - if and 
only if you change in node.conf the setting KDE_CUPS to "1".
