yes, i noticed a lot of such files... it looks to be using the KDE style 
Makefile.am's. was there a Makefile.cvs or some such in the top level 
directory of the sources at some point?

i could make a list of files that shouldn't be in CVS fairly easily...

doxygen style comments in the heads is a good start... it allows one to create 
the sort of API docs you see for KDE and Qt APIs .. really handy...

understood ... it would actually be really nice to turn it into a .so for 
Linux/UNIX and then maintain binary compat... nicer than statically linking 
it into N different clients... i assume that wouldn't cause problems for your 
Mozilla plugin?

i don't suppose you have notes on what sorts of things were broken on win32?
