Thanks for you're reply, Tim, but the whole point for me was to use the
"bleeding fresh" OSS libs and freeNX-CVS. I wanted to learn how to
compile and configure them manually, as a way to follow the development
and maybe give some feedback on how they work. Finally I wanted to write
a how-to on this topic, mainly because the few sources of info on how to
do this that I found, didn't work as stated.

I'm using the packages from kalyxo on a box at work, as a kind of
"test-production" server for myself, and it all works fine.

The instructions you gave is great for those who want to install the
FreeNX server on Debian, though... :-)   (and I hope many will!)
