Well, the NX client can know that it got minimized. In addition the NX client
can tell the NX server that it does not require updates for some parts of the
screen.

There are enough screensavers which consume all available resources....
But again NX could detect that a screensaver is running (it uses some special
X calls) and act accordingly.
